Why isn’t my pet showing in my tabs?
Most often, the tab was already open before you added the extension, or the extension is added but not connected to your account. Reload the tab first. Then open the Pawsome Family button in Chrome’s toolbar and work through the checks below.
Start here
- Reload the tab. Tabs that were open before you added Pawsome Family need a reload before your pet can appear in them.
- Open a website. Chrome does not let any extension draw on its own pages, such as the blank New Tab page, Settings, and the Chrome Web Store. Your pet appears as soon as you open a website, such as google.com.
Check the toolbar menu
Select the Pawsome Family button in Chrome’s toolbar. If you cannot see it, select the Extensions icon, which looks like a puzzle piece, and pin Pawsome Family.
- Connect, if it asks you to. If the menu says “Connect your pet to see them walk along the bottom of every tab,” select Connect my pet.
- Turn on Show my pet.
- Turn off Hide on this site, if it is on for the site you are looking at.
- End a pause. If the menu says “Paused until” and a time, select Resume now.
- Check Hide in full screen. With this on, your pet steps out while a video, game, or presentation fills the screen, and comes back when it ends.
- Choose who walks. With more than one pet, one walks at a time. Pick yours under Which pet.
If your pet is asleep in a corner
When the free trial ends without a plan, your pet stays but naps in one corner instead of walking. The toolbar menu says “Napping in the corner. Your free trial has ended.” Select See the plan to get them walking again. See how the free trial works.
Other things to check
- Site access in Chrome. In Chrome, open Manage extensions, select Details on Pawsome Family, and make sure site access is set to On all sites. With a narrower setting, your pet appears only on the sites you allowed.
- Incognito windows. Chrome turns extensions off in Incognito unless you switch on Allow in incognito on the same Details page.
- Another browser, or a phone. Pawsome Family works in Chrome on a computer. It does not run on phones or tablets.
See what this browser is doing
In the app, open Chrome extension under Settings. It tells you whether the extension is missing from this browser, added but not connected, or connected.
