My pet doesn’t look right. How do I fix it?

You can change any part of your pet yourself, both when you first meet them and at any time afterwards on their page. If the whole pet looks off, better photos usually fix more than editing does.

Before you keep your pet

On the page where you meet your pet, look under Does this look like [your pet’s name]? Choose a part and pick the option that matches. Your pet updates as you go.

If we got the breed wrong, find Here’s what we saw, select Change next to Breed, and type the right one. Your pet takes on that breed’s shape and keeps their colors and markings. Leave the box empty for a mixed breed.

Still not right? Select Try other photos.

After you keep your pet

  1. Open your pet’s page from Your pets in the sidebar.
  2. Under Edit [your pet’s name], choose a group: Shape, Face, Coat, or Extras.
  3. Open a part and pick the option that matches your pet.
  4. Select Save changes.

Your pet in Chrome stays the same until you save. To drop what you tried, select Undo changes.

What you can change

Redraw your pet from better photos

  1. On your pet’s page, go to Photos and select Add photos.
  2. Select Refresh from photos.

This takes about 3 minutes, and your pet updates in Chrome on their own. For the photos that help most, see which photos work best.

One thing to know: once your pet has been drawn from your photos, a saved edit redraws them from your choices instead. Refresh from photos brings the detail from your photos back.

Go back to an earlier look

Every saved change keeps the look before it. On your pet’s page, find Earlier looks and select Use this look on the one you want.
